Join us at the jewellers’ bench each week and unleash your creativity with our 8-week evening course.
You will learn the basics of jewellery making and discover many techniques to start creating your own stunning jewellery pieces. We provide all the necessary tools, technical know-how, expert tuition, a beautiful studio, and unlimited cups of tea. During the course, you will learn the fundamentals of jewellery and silversmithing and create a range of finished silver pieces to take home. Our expert guidance and support will help you design your own bespoke piece, and we'll share our tips and tricks to help you perfect your craft.
This course is suitable for all levels and is the perfect opportunity to unlock your potential and unleash your inner artist!
Course Overview
Held one day a week over Eight consecutive weeks,
Tuesday Evening sessions 6:00 pm - 8:45 pm
The next set starts 26th November 2024 - 28th January 2025 with a break over Christmas for two weeks (Just in time to add some jewellery tools to your Christmas list :) )
Please note that the second session will be held on Wednesday, December 4th, instead of Tuesday, December 3rd, due to a prior event within our building; all other sessions will be on Tuesdays.
All tools and materials are provided for the course, but you can purchase extra materials for your design project.
Techniques covered
Forming, piercing, texturing and pattern making, annealing, soldering, finishing and lots more
What will you make?
We will introduce you to new techniques and processes each week and then assist you in making an item of silver jewellery by applying the techniques learned. The course is divided into two parts. In the first five weeks, you can expect to create at least three small silver items (such as a ring, earrings, cufflinks, a pendant, a lapel pin, or a brooch) and a range of experimental pieces in base metals, copper, and brass. You can create your own design for the final three weeks with our guidance. Materials, including silver, are provided for the first projects, and base metals are included for the final project, with the option to purchase silver.

Thursday Night Making and Master Classes Blocks
If you have attended the beginner’s workshop or one-day jewellery course or have some jewellery-making experience, continue your jewellery-making journey and join us each Thursday evening in the studio and add to your jewellery-crafting skills and friendship circle.
You'll be able to work on your projects using our studio and equipment, with expert guidance and support from our tutors.
Available to book in blocks of four. Each four-week block will begin with a technique-specific master class evening with the materials provided, followed by tuition and instruction tailored to your areas of interest. You can also continue to make a piece using your newly learned technique.
Each block is £130 and includes the materials for each master class project.
